Naiad in the morning sun
Todays blip is of a smaller narrow boat Naiad about to head into Barnton Tunnel from the Anderton Boat (east) end. Was going to blip the tunnel reflecting in the canal water but it looks like the white paint could do with a bit of tarting up.
The name Naiad sounded familiar and after checking out what it meant it took me back to a previous trip to Rome when we were heading back to the main railway station and came across the great piazza della repubblica and the massive central fountain and on a later visit the Red bus tours went around the fountain - funny how things tie into each other
In Greek mythology, the Naiads were a type of water nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, brooks and other bodies of fresh water.
