At Mats o Karin's to...

At Mats o Karin's to listen to Ronnie Eriksson and the Rambling Minds.
This small building holds slightly over 100 people so it was a very intimate atmosphere. That stage was going to hold 8 people though it was impossible to see them all from the same place. Sitting on the left as we were we could see the keyboard player sitting in the doorway to the right of the stage, but we didn't see the two saxophonists standing on the far left of the stage!
We started the evening by inviting four friends to dinner, then off to Mats o Karin's. It was the first time we'd been here but the atmosphere was great and we'll definitely be back.
One huge advantage for us is that Mats o Karin's is a long way from town, and about 3 kms away from us. Normally if we go out one of us has to drive home and therefore remain more-or-less alcohol free through the evening. Now we can cycle, or even walk here, which makes it a place we can go to and both have a glass of wine or a beer or two and then take ourselves home. Having a drink isn't that important for either of us but it's nice to have the choice sometimes!
Mats o Karin's seems to attract both local musical talent and some more well-known artists. Our next evening out will probably to see Chris Hiatt from the USA at the start of august.
You can see two photos from the actual performance on my Flickr, here and here.
