The leftovers
This afternoon I drove to A's house where she had turned her home into an all day cafe to raise money for their church fabric. She was so well organised, her two daughters, one from Dubai the other from Bristol had baked many cakes, scones, soup, scotch eggs and many more to feed the hoard of villagers who took delight sitting in their lovely garden and stuffing themselves over a cup of tea. Even the nursery school children came in for miniature ploughmans and said a big thank you in unison! The younger daughter C used to own a cafe in Frome before she and her family moved abroad and produced cakes such as Hummingbird cake, lime and courgette cake, two types of chocolate cake, carrot cake, a baked cheese cake - the list is endless! I was just washing up in the background!
A very hot day. T, N and J finished harvesting the two barley fields and were able to bale all the straw so if it pours it wont matter! Lunch at the pub with our two old friends.
