County Arcade, Leeds
The magnificent County Arcade in Leeds Victoria Quarter was designed by Frank Matcham, an architect more noted for his theatres.
The Victoria Quarter in Leeds consists of several linked arcades in the main shopping area. This glamorous shopping precinct was created to
replace an area of slaughterhouses and slums in the late 1890s.
In the early 1990s, these Grade II listed arcades were restored and the Victoria Quarter created.
On a sunny day like today, County Arcade looked particularly splendid.
