Light dancing on crystal water

There's nothing quite as good for the soul as a day at the beach, I was joking to my friend that we should set up camp and stay for the night...there was a part of me that definitely would have stayed. We set off in the afternoon and found ourselves at Yellowcraigs beach on the east coast of Scotland. We had an enjoyable time chatting and having a picnic that we had both prepared followed by a wander up the beach which is when I took this photo. The sand dunes are incredible along this stretch of coast and the water is so crystal clear and inviting. It just needed it to be a little bit warmer in order to tempt me in! The countryside in East Lothian is just as stunning as the beach, with an abundance of wildflowers edging every field, dark clusters of mighty conifers, flowering gorse along sweeping stretches of sea road, smartly painted white cottages with sleepy bees bumbling around in it's gardens. The south of France...what? you've got nothing on how lovely Scotland can be!
