Journey to Wanaka

Feeling pretty alive today. I think the party carried on wayy after I left!
After a very quick breakfast, touching as little as possible in the bomb site of a kitchen, we hopped back on the bus.

A short drive down the road we stopped for a view of Fox Glacier. The sun was really shining and it looked beautiful.. But obviously that was mainly down the horse. Then a little further on was Lake Matheson, a famous mirror lake. It was worth the freezing cold 15 minute walk to get there.

I needed a hot tea after the walk, then back on the bus Juan swapped with Jonas so we could carry on our discussion about New Zealand and Mexico. I've definitely been persuaded to go there next!

Half a dozen freezing but beautiful stops later we make it to Wanaka. Everyone was absolutely shattered by that point, and no one wanted to do much more than eat microwave dinners, have stacks of chocolate and then go to bed. So that's what we did!
