Storm on it's way............oh swell!
The next few days are meant to see the largest swell of the winter- predicted to be around 4 m. A year ago this would have meant nothing to me. When I mentioned this interesting fact to hubby and daughter today they seemed completely unimpressed!
I may as well have said the swell this weekend is predicted to be blue cheese!
The last 6 months I have learned a lot about tides, moon rise, sunset/sunrise times and yes, even Swell!
In any case the swell was starting to build this evening at North Avoca.
This is an impressive headland with infinitely interesting rock formations. There were patches of rainbow on the horizon (although not in this particular shot) and interesting cloud formations that were changing quite literally every few minutes- whipped by the very strong winds. Several keen photographers out tonight, despite the marked drop in temperatures and the less than inviting weather. I am finding I quite enjoy these wild and woolly shoots and often feel quite invigorated afterwards. I had a number of shots I enjoyed from the shoot tonight but in the end, after family consensus, this one won out as the Blip.
So, if you go out to the beach this weekend .....you're in for a big surprise....take care of the swell and tricky conditions!
