A picnic of mussels

Today started off with brunch at a new cafe - and we weren't disappointed. After brunch we stopped by the fish shop to get something tea.

We came away with some mussels, oysters, cod and lemon sole - but could have brought so much more! It was all looked so good and so fresh!

Once home we did some house work jobs while CJ played in the garden and toy room.

It wasn't long before we needed to start on dinner - we turned the fish into a huge pile of fish fingers (have frozen most as meals for CJ) and cooked the mussels.

CJ figured out what was going on and wouldn't leave S2 alone. Once the mussels were cooked the two of them sat and had a picnic together - CJ matching S2 1:1 for about 70% of the bowl before he started to slow down. He really loves mussels!

And what a great way for the two of them to spend time together after we were away most of the week!
