Earth removal

The digger (aka backhoe) is removing the platform on which it is standing into the procession of trucks going around the circle behind it and coming up on the ramp in the right front of frame. Taking the picture standing at street level - the wooden shutters in the distance come up to ground level. A huge volume of earth has been moved out of this site in the last few weeks. It's easy ground to work - light alluvial soil, no previous construction debris further down than 2m, and no rain likely for months.
