Hanging Basket

Last night we had some spectacular thunderstorms and a wonderful lightning show, today it has been the hottest day of the year. Our not very scientific thermometer registered 31.5 degrees and this evening it's extremely humid and uncomfortable. I was roped in to assist with the feeding of the hanging baskets and I must admit he's done a pretty good job. At this time of the year they add much needed colour. This is the one I see when standing at the kitchen sink.
I do feel that all of this is pretty insignificant in the general scheme of things today with the news of the Malaysian Airlines plane. My thoughts are with all the friends and families affected by this dreadful disaster
