Thank yous and goodbyes

The last day of the year and it went very quickly. I managed to get most of the urgent things done, including writing two speeches. Lots of goodbyes at the end of the day to lovely people, two in particular that I will really miss but I managed to deliver their speeches without any tears. It has also been a day of cards and flowers, chocolates and wine and even a present for the new arrival; all a reminder that I do work with lovely people. It has been a strange year in many ways, not least because of how fast it has gone.

I came home via the pet shop - finally - and got a few more things (though I've no idea if they are the right things) so that I feel vaguely ready; which is a good job as tomorrow is the day.
