I Bee Hairy

The closest I could come to identifying this buzzer is that I think it's an Eastern Carpenter Bee. They were all over a neighbor's Tea Olive Tree. The females, which this is probably one, bore tunnels into the dead wood of trees, rafters and fences. Then they form cells with the wood scrapings from the tunnels and deposit an egg and a pellet of pollen and nectar in each one. Their work done they then begin hibernating.

And if this isn't an Eastern Carpenter Bee then...I haven't a clue ;)
