Tonight you calm my restlessness

When I was little, Dad grew Dahlias in the garden. Beautiful colours, massively large heads, and loads of petals.

But loads of earwigs.

These aren't Dahlias. I have no idea what they are. I planted multi-seeds and I have no idea what any of them are, apart from the poppies. But that's okay because they are beautiful.

Good night Memory.

Sitting in a crappy student flat, in Newington. My bedroom faced Arthurs Seat, our lounge faced south... as we were on the fifth floor, there wasn't much in the way of eyesores - the occasional old town chimney, the typical sprinkling of tv aerials...

Sitting in companionable silence listening to Daryl Hall and John Oates on the TV, singing You've Lost That Loving Feeling".

The summer evening sky getting to reach that beautiful blue, and the first stars of the night popping out.

Peace and contentment for for once, none of us had the energy to kill anyone else.
