Heron Supper
As I left work today, there was a crowd of people in the office car park standing around in the sun. "What's going on?" - "The Red Arrows display" - and sure enough for the next half hour or so we were privileged to watch them do their stuff. Our line of sight was a bit restricted by the surrounding buildings and trees, which in a way made it all more exciting as they kept disappearing from view, only to suddenly shoot over our heads with a roar of thunder!
With the display over I headed over to Frimley Lodge Park and a peaceful stroll down the canal. A couple of female mallards were having having a great time bathing and preening themselves - but I then spotted this heron paddling down the side of the canal. Suddenly his head shot out and a fish "appeared" in his beak - and soon disappeared down his gullet. Wonderful stuff.
So while the Red Arrows were exciting, this is my blip for today - hope you like it
