Fog in the making

Woke to thick fog this morning. It cleared slowly to some sunshine but, by late afternoon, this cloud rolled up the Dart. By early evening it had risen to immerse our village in fog again. It is an amazing sight when it heads up the valley, spreading as it reaches the sea to head back inland.

This evening we've been to the Flavel in Dartmouth to see the Mick Jones jazz quartet. Well, it was more than a quartet tonight - lots of additional musicians and a woman singer, Lucy Hingston, as well as Mick. All were performing voluntarily as a fund-raiser for the Flavel Arts Centre. A fair number of the musicians were ex-marines and some were ex-professional musicians: a very talented bunch they were, too. There's nothing like live music!
