American Goldfinch

A male goldfinch (Carduelis tristis) at our friends Jane and Marty's country house in the Hudson Valley north of New York City. I set up perches next to their bird feeder on the porch, and the birds came--above all the Tufted Titmouse, but this fellow is much brighter.

Here's a chickadee that I captured (same place, same way) not quite two years ago.

We drove here for lunch, and are having a great time.
