A lot of hot air
My son S, for the first time, recently participated in the SA National Hot Air Balloon Championships held in the Newcastle district.
This pic is taken from the August edition of the magazine Go!.
The text below accompanied the picture:
Roadside Assistance. S G prepares to take off next to the road, after wind conditions suddenly changed one morning. Ground crews scrambled and drove around until they found another suitable launch site. They couldn't get hold of the farmer to get permission to launch from his fields, so they used the roadside. S is from Rustenburg and is a pilot for an adventure company that offers game-viewing flights over the Pilanesberg.
The balloon in the top right of the picture belongs to D R who operates near the Blyde River Canyon
