Who can resit baking a chocolate cake without testing the raw mix?

Tonight we are hosting a fund raising garden party for a club I belong to The Reading Film and Video Makers. Members and partners pay £7.50 per head for unlimited drinks and a couple of desserts. This is the making of a chocolate cake with fresh cream and raspberries. A lemon cheesecake already prepared.

At 6pm I was expecting 14 guests, and by 7pm it had come to my attention that I was missing emails and that at least 12 others were now coming. How many other emails had gone into a black hole? How many would ACTUALLY turn up? How many pieces can you cut a cake into without looking mean? !!
