Red Houseleek

Sempervivum

I wasn't sure if this was a houseleek or not, but now that a flower has come out I can see that it is a relative of the cobweb houseleek. This sempevivum has rosettes of dark red spiky leaves, part of which can be seen here. One rosette sent out a stem with a globe-shaped clump of buds on the end. This is the first flower to open. You can see the buds all round it.
