Newcastle airport should not feel like the back of beyond but it may as well be in the Summer. A 4 hour train ride to stay in at friend's house overnight, another train at 5am then flights, Zurich-Amsterdam-Newcastle. It is almost less complicated for the family to return to Iowa! I hope they have a good journey, the last few days have seen granchildren slumped in exhausted heaps on matresses. I don't know why?
