Terrier racing
Thunderstorms and lightening in the early hours and again over lunchtime so we did not venture out to the village Horse and Dog show until later. Apparently the horses were not phased at all by the storm, I was imagining bolting mounts with riders hanging on for dear life! It had been well attended in the morning with lots of entries from far and near, the dogs too were all shapes and sizes with mostly children walking their faithful pets round the ring.
Then came the terrier racing, a favourite every year. Mostly local privately owned Jack Russells who really love the sport and never fight, were put into the starting hutches, the gate released and off they went chasing a rag on the end of a string which disappeared under a hay bale at the end. Our JR would be hopeless and hate it so she stayed well away!
Better LARGE
Tonight there will be Music in Park, weather permitting.
