Princess Dusty

If I am being honest, I cannot say that I was entirely overjoyed at 5am when Oscar and Bailee came into the room to tell me Aunty KP bought them a new crocodile.... We went for a walk last night, and she bought them a large, blow-up croc for in the pool. Even though I was mostly asleep, the joy and excitement was hard to miss. Aunty KP bought them a crocodile and left it on the table, and (wait for it...), it has a handle!!! (The most exciting part, as described by Oscar). The crocodile was named Dusty by Oscar and the title Princess added by Bailee.

So of course the morning began with a 9am swim at the pools. Despite always playing nicely, sharing and playing super-independently when someone else's crocodile was lent to them at the pool, 'independent and calm playing' was not the name of the game today....

Instead Bailee and Oscar fought and scraped about who would ride the crocodile and where. Tomorrow Princess Dusty will have a 5-minute rest when the fighting begins!

The afternoon was equally as exciting. I cannot believe it but this time last year we were still in England and all packed to leave for Dubai in the morning. That also means that Maple Violet will have her second birthday in just three more sleeps....

As a birthday present, we decided while KP is here to take Maple to Build-A-Bear to create her very own bear. She has recently developed a liking for Bailee's Pink bear named 'Pink'. She treats it as her own and has renamed it 'Pinky'.

It was very cute at Build-A-Bear. Maple was so excited to choose the bear to be stuffed. She knew what was happening but didn't quite get it. She couldn't choose a bear and wanted them all. So we lined up four of what we thought were her favourites: a sheep, a unicorn (Hopeful contender), rainbow bear and a dog. We put them on the floor and the rainbow bear was chosen. It was stuffed, it's very own heart put in, Brahms lullaby inserted and a dress was chosen. Oscar chose some white knickers from him (Typical), and Bailee some Rainbow shoes. The perfect present (Although it was tossed on the floor as soon as we got home!) Hopefully she will develop half the bond Oscar has with Nana the Monkey and Bailee has with her pink. The Rainbow bear was named "Beau".
