Rainy fete day
Following the horrendous thunderstorm in the night, weather continued to be appalling all morning and also during the mile long parade to the fete ground. Youngest son's Beavers group were all dressed as 'farm hands' complete with massive cardboard hands pinned onto their backs which soon became completely sodden! However, we had a great samba band in front of us encouraging us along the lanes :-)
Once we got to the fete field, the rain stopped and normal service resumed; stalls, ice creams, dog show, fell race, tea and cakes in the marquee plus the announcement of this year's village mayor.
Youngest son was delighted to score a few goals against this chap, despite his welly flying off!!
Oh, and as expected, we didn't win anything in the scarecrow competition.....
