Neighbourhood Watch

The Queen's Baton passed our way today. Looking through my camera roll, which was quite choccer, I kept coming back to this picture as it represents a real Blip in my day.
In the (sort of) middle of the picture is my neighbour, who rejoices in the name of Granville Fox. He's the one with the camera, obviously!
Granville has photography running through his veins. Not only has he been a photographer, man and boy, his father was also a well kent local photographer, with his own studio in the days when such a thing was a rarity.
Ask anyone locally about the Foxes and photography and they know what you are talking about.
The comedian, Craig Hill, carried the baton through our wee hamlet. In my naïveté I thought that the baton was carried every step of the way but alas and alack this was not the case.
Craig picked it up at a nearby lamppost and ran down to Bardowie Loch, which is just a short jog away. Or in Craig's case, a short jig away...
The Commonwealth baron operation is surely a perfectly oiled machine ... and Granville Fox is still the best name I've ever heard. I am saving it up for the novel. If and when I get it written.
