It Never Rains, But It Pours
I was a bit disgruntled first thing this morning ... If there had been any thunderstorms overnight, then I'd missed them ... :o(
Never mind, at least I'd had a good nights sleep for a change ...
---
I had a million and one things to be getting on with at the laundry itself, but every time I started something, I got called away to do something else ...
---
One of the "somethings" I was called away to do, was an emergency delivery of table linen to a restaurant in town ... (I've never worked out why 'table linen' and 'emergency' gets used in the same sentence, but it does.)
So off I go, happy as bear with a sore tooth, slamming van doors and generally making sure that everybody knew how pi.., (sorry) ... how cheesed off I was, cursing and blinding every vehicle that held me up by going 1 mph slower than the speed limit, when I saw a flash of lightning in the sky ...
My mood changed in an instant ... :o)
Half way along the front I just had to pull over to take an emergency photo of the sky (yes, I know, 'emergency' and 'photo' shouldn't be used in the same sentence) ...
---
Not long after this shot was taken, the heavens opened up ...
Bolts of lightning ... Crashes of thunder ... Hail stones the size of footballs ... Roads turned into rivers ... Newly formed lakes of water in every dip of ground ...
In a word, for almost ten minutes, all hell was let loose ... (okay then, five words) ... :o)
---
And then the rest of the day was quite fine and warm ... although I've still got nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine things to be getting on with at the laundry on Monday ... :o|
