Dragonfly

This proud beauty landed on our screen door this morning, no doubt sheltering from the heavy rain. It's not the most vividly coloured Dragonfly I've ever seen but it was nice to be able to get up so close.

Taking the photograph posed some challenges, not least because I haven't worked out how to manually focus the camera and didn't have time to read the manual before the insect flew away. Still, the picture's come out OK. Students of photography will realise that I've rotated the photograph around 180 degrees, to get a better aspect.
