Something old. something new......
An overcast and grey winter's day on the Coast today. We played some board games this afternoon then our new L driver drove me to my chosen photo shoot location.
I had a play with this jetty and also experimented with my Big Stopper filter. As the light was not all that strong due to the cloud cover I needed to ramp up the ISO and it still was a long 60 sec exposure. This filter always gives a strong blue cast and I have lessened it in this pic although it is still evident.
I have added my other favourite to the folio and it can be seen here without the 10 stop filter.
My only regret is that the photos I had seen of this jetty were of a lovely old wooden structure with great grain and character. I know progress is inevitable and no doubt this new jetty type of plastics and metals will last longer and be more resilient than the older style but I can't help but feel that that it lacks a certain charm.
There is another similar styled jetty a little further around the foreshore and it was inaccessible as it is collapsing and falling into the water......a case in point for the new style I suppose.
