To Carry on Extracting Honey

We have reached the stage in the beekeeping year when it is time to start getting in the main summer honey crop.

The honey that you see coming out of the metal tap is falling in to a 28lb bucket. This then has an air tight lid fitted and the honey can then be stored for a long time.

Look at the shape of the honey stream as it flows from the tap.

Honey is of course viscous but I have always wondered why the stream of honey moves backwards immediately after it leaves the tap.
