Down the Danube IX
Vienna was blazing hot and exciting. We roamed around back streets looking at interesting buildings (like the one illustrated), went on a carriage ride, ate lunch and listened to jazz at a summer festival and slept under a shady tree in the park.
We finished our visit with kaffee und küchen at Cafe Central on Herrenstraße, a beautiful late 19th century coffee shop where patrons still dine under a portrait of the emperor - marvelous!
It's been brilliant and we'll definitely be back.
