Wharton View

This battlement was, for a long time, home to a cannon from the Crimean War. The cannon was occasionally fired to mark special occasions, however it was removed during the Second World War, presumably for the ‘war effort’. If you stand on top of it you see fabulous views of our Cathedral and Castle.
