A Day on the River
Mr C took Little Miss E and Munchkin 1 for their first trip down the Thames in his open canoe, loaded with a picnic and mobile phone. Missy looked great in her little Life jacket and her rabbit Flop had to have a waterproof too (quickly fashioned from another piece of kit from our shop). She had her own little paddle too, which she seemed very proud of.
SO I dropped them all off at a suitable point up the river. Manoeuvring the heavy canoe to the river was quite hard while supervising two munchkins, but off they went....well...they got two strokes in, when Little Miss E realised I wasn't going (I had to drive to the pick up point) and for the next 10 minutes I could hear her crying for her mummy :(. I knew she would be fine though...and she was. Especially when they came to a fallen tree and Mr C had to balance the kids on said tree and manoeuvre the canoe round it...only to momentarily let it go and it to float away! Little Missy found it very amusing that daddy had to swim to catch it! Anyway, just over 4 miles of paddling later, they appeared at the pick up point (thank goodness!) smiling away. Munchkin 1 did really well paddling up front, although I think Mr C did most of the work. Little Miss only dropped her paddle in the river once.
So while I was waiting on them I had a lovely little lunch in a cafe by the river, and took a few photographs. So that is todays Blip, something a little different for me, but I like it.
Let the sunshine continue!
