Peacock on wood
A precious day at home for the first time in a while. Internet access in the Isle of Wight last week was poor. I'm still getting to know my new cameras and seem to have settled in to using two lenses for almost everything - the 50mm Sigma and the Nikor 70-200mm with the option of a doubler. The latter doesn't work quite so well for shots like the one above but there was still enough detail after a big crop.
The CLA Game Fair on Saturday was one of the best I've attended with some great casting demonstrations and a chance to talk over a few ideas with people in the fishing industry. Pippa enjoyed the terrier tent. It's great going somewhere where dogs are really welcome and you can take them in to the tented shops. It's a shame that people who wear tweeds and wellies on sweltering days are often so misunderstood. The chap here was modelling Dubarry boots. Dubarry was well known among sailors but less well known generally until Bruce Springsteen wore a pair at Glastonbury in 2009 few years back and the boots started selling like hot cakes. They couldn't get Bruce for Saturday's fair.
A lot to do this week, following up leads etc, so time here will be limited. Apologies for not commenting so much of late but I think most of you know how it is. Balancing time on here seems to be an eternal issue. I was pleased with the results from some of the sailing shots last week. This was one of my favourites.
