A goldfish called Lazarus

I intended to try my first ever "Mono-Monday" shot today, and seeing that the subject this week is "pets" I spent a happy hour trying to get our only pet, a goldfish, to pose for me. I thought this shot wasn't bad, but try as I might I could not get it to look good in mono. (Obviously I need more practice with Photoshop!).

Anyway it seems a shame to waste this shot - so here it is in colour.

It is a very special goldfish as it must be at least 20 years old. We thought it had died a few years ago then it seemed to spring into life again, hence its name of Lazarus. It very obviously has a senile cataract in one eye but, in spite of being a retired eye surgeon, I have decided not to try to operate!! (I find the shape of its eyes intriguing, as seen on this shot.)
