Devon fun
After a fraught breakfast of toddler chasing, we headed to Lodduswell. Both boys had a snooze on the way which meant Andy and I could see some familiar sights. Yanston continues to change, with the old farm house looking so different with it's new roof and angular walls. The other new houses and fences are starting to settle into their surroundings. Odd how different it looks, but lovely that the area is now home to six new families who get to enjoy a slice of Devon as well.
We had lunch with Aunty Jane, who got lots of old toys out for the boys. Nathaniel was in heaven playing farms and fire engines; it made Andy nostalgic as 30 years ago it would've been him laying on the same 70's carpet watching the wheels move along. The bunny rabbit poof was a huge hit, becoming a space hopper in no time. Nathaniel kept pretending he'd fallen off which had Bay giggling away. Poor bunny, think it's usually admired not bounced on (and off!) Aunty Jane packed us off with cake, drink and presents as she does. Far too generous.
Another snoozy drive past beautiful beaches and we were at Dartington Hall. Lovely big room in the eaves...bit of a mission getting everything up the stairs. Tasty supper outside the tea shop, Nathaniel very keen to explore but Balian really enjoyed the cheese and curried chutney sandwiches. Bumped into the bride and groom, and The Langs before their rehearsal. Big day tomorrow, so exciting (and daunting with two littleies!)
