Wedding cake saga
Icing attempt mark 1.
The fondant icing is extremely flexible in these temperatures, and this turns out to be an advantage as it needed to shape itself over a square cake.
I was really pleased how well that went on.
The decoration is quite challenging as it is difficult on a vertical surface. I think the icing needs to be slightly softer.
The cake was presented to our faithful volunteers at work at their summer picnic, and so I got to slice it up!
The lemon cake inside cut up very satisfactorily, and the fondant was just firn enough.
Overall very pleasing and a relief to have done the square icing!
