Hartlepool heritage

The north east has been stifling today, which I love.

Off to the historic Quayside area of Hartlepool with KryptoMart, and what a cultural revelation, great looking part of the town with the re-creation of an 18th century seaport, in the time of Lord Nelson, Napoleon and the Battle of Trafalgar. HMS Trincomalee, a Royal Navy frigate and Britain's oldest warship afloat is at the centre of the quay. She was built in Bombay, India in 1817. The 190th anniversary of the ship's official launch was on Friday 12 October 2007.

There is also the marina, which in this weather could have been anywhere in the Mediterranean.

Off the then visit the headland of Hartlepool, which is very picturesque and even has a statue to Andy Capp. In Sunderland now, another super town.

In my view, the north east is a super tourist destination and well worth a visit.

I hope you have all had a great day.
