Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

We Call This . . .

. . . 3 Dog Night at "Fun"ville

Bob dog would like to introduce everyone to Razzie the Schnauzer and Sporty the Doxie (who thinks he's a Rottweiler). These three are lined-up watching my sis as she prepares our evening meal.

All day on the counter top a crockpot cooked beans; the aroma was tantalizing and filled the house. So the dogs are watching my sis chopping greens for salad. She had steamed butternut squash that was grown in her garden, affectionately called the "farm." She also cooked the gourmet hot dogs that had been in the freezer since the gift package from Omaha Steaks arrived a month ago.

At my sister's K-9 Kamp, she feeds the dogs all organic food. Most of the dogs eventually learn to love veggies and fruits and beans along with the organic kibble that she serves. Every time we've been at her home, we've been amazed at "feeding" time to see what these dogs will consume. Tonight her 2 ate salad, beans, and squash along with their kibble.

The photo line-up reveals the anticipation of food about to arrive down on their level. Bob dog is the most complacent, so he stands the furthest from the action. Razzie is blind, so she basically stays where my sis places her. Little Sporty will take my hand off (without meaning too) if I offer him a snack and don't pull my hand back quick enough and it's painful. So he's first in the line-up.

My sister was in a car all day Saturday and Sunday getting here from Portland. Then again yesterday was a day long journey to see Grammie Teele's house combined with the drive up the coast through Oceanside, San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, and stop in Tustin at the Whole Foods Market and on to home. So today we've had a "do-nothing" day. The rain arrived at approximately 1:40 this afternoon. Sis watched DVDs and napped, I did some catch-up on paperwork, and Mr. Fun did whatever Mr. Fun does--I found him napping right before dinner.

As we ate dinner, my sis announced that it was Grammie Teele who years ago introduced her to butternut squash. The Grammie Teele stories part 2 were starting.

We have no plans for tomorrow, so we'll see what unfolds as the day arrives.

Good night from a rainy wet Southern California.
