More sunshine
After my blood test today, with no problems, I walked down to the harbour. It was a lovely morning and you can see how flat the sea was. I sat on the bench and looked at the view. Sparrows were busy eating the thistle seeds and flying down on to the pebbles to feed on the flies. Families of seagulls noisily fought over a meal. A oyster catcher flew off , peeping a warning as it went.
I heard voices behind me and a group of boys headed for the harbour, just wearing their swimming trunks and shoes. They tried to enter the water going down the harbour steps. I could hear their screams as they tip toed into the cold water. They obviously thought that going down the outer steps would be better as they clambered back to the top and down the ladder. It must have been cold as there was a lot of colourful language but eventually they took the plunge and went for a swim with lots of laughter.
Mike picked me up, it was getting very hot, and we took our lunch, cold chicken sandwiches, up to the Learnie Cycle track carpark to eat them in the shade. Grasshoppers were chirping to each other, one would stop and another one would reply. The heather has started to flower, two shades of pink . Also saw some harebells on the roadside. A buzzard floated silently past as one of the big tankers moved along the Moray Firth between Fort George and Chanonry Point.
It has now cooled down a lot and is now nice and refreshing and the sun is still shining through the trees.
