Caught In The Act!

Went to pick our first aubergine or egg plant if you prefer ;-) to make a moussaka and found this little caterpillar had beaten me to it! You can't see the area he'd eaten as he left the scene of crime to go walkabout!


I have tried to identify him but have found no caterpillar that looks this colour and he doesn't have any exciting identifying features, except fine black hairs all over. Any thoughts on his name?


It was the creamiest aubergine I've ever tasted ;-) I'm so pleased that varieties have improved over the years and we don't have to spend ages doing the 'salting' to get rid of the bitterness, that was a real pain ;-/
