African Ground Squirrel

I captured this shot on our one day excursion round Fuerteventure, whilst over in Lanzarote.

These little guys were introduced to the Canary Islands from South Western Morocco. This shot was captured in the North East of the island in the Corralejo county. Our tour guide for the day referred to them as Moroccan Squirrels.

It was a super day overall and the kids loved the ferry trip; their first. I've still got hundreds of shots to pour over and get onto Flickr, but this one was definitely the pick of the day for me!
