The Gates

We always pass these gates on our morning walk, they are the entrance to one of the largest properties on the lake, about 3 acres in total, with 4 houses and sheds. The grounds are just like a park with a permanent caretaker and gardener. In the spring the trees are in blossom and are full of tuis, bellbirds and kereru.

This is winter and the Boston Ivy that covers the brick fence and gates is bare, the shadows of the winter sum on the stems creating great patterns. I love every season, with its own beauty.
