The old Pet Shop

This business closed down in March this year, after trading since 1926, most of that time under 3 generations of the same family. The shop had a simple and nostalgic look about it and is now looking a little sad. When I was taking this photograph (as a record shot) I realised that there was a large JCB behind doing some demolition work. I hope that they leave the old shop alone and also that whoever takes it over is sympathetic in the way they fit it out. There are not many old buildings of character left in the town. And no more coffee shops, please.
