Space age trolley

Our local shopping centre had taken delivery of the latest in these "Space Age" trollies.
I was intrigued to see a drink holder complete with a spring clip to hold the contents steady incorporated on the handlebars.
Apparently it has provision in the near future for self scanning of articles as they are placed in the trolley. You can see a small box on the right side where a device will be fitted for such a system.

Soon it will not be necessary to have any shop assistance people around at all.
I wonder if the supermarkets will pay us for our self service?
