Lilac Hydrangea

S and I spent all morning in the garden and we did all that we set out to. Planted 6 laurel bushes and then dug over and replanted the front border. It was so hot that my glasses kept sliding off my nose which was very irritating. We drank copious amounts of tea and water to keep hydrated.

We also worked out which bits of the garden need attention next (the border to the left of the gate) and plans for next year (extend the border at the bottom corner of the garden), and also plants to move around (hydrangea on the terrace and hostas. Shrubs we planted two summers ago are really coming along nicely now and it is good to see. Note to self: you have to be patient with gardening (as S reminded me this morning).

This is a hydrangea I had in a pot until this morning. It looks happier in the ground.
