Was probably the noise that Alfie's collarbone made when it broke. He was tackled playing football and fell badly. From what I can gather he blacked out briefly.

Off to Addenbrookes where an X-ray has confirmed it is broken. He'll be out of action for about 6 weeks which is most of the Summer holidays, there are also three cricket games he was supposed to be playing this week as well. Even more annoying is that he won't be able to play guitar at the weekend! Gutted, poor little chap.

As usual lots of people helped, including our friend Debbie who works at the hospital she appeared as if by magic and explained what was going on, how it would be mended etc.

Early night with pain killers for Alf, final band practise before Hendstock for me. I'd cancel it but we really need the time.

And it would have been Ian's 46th birthday today..
