One of my favourite clocks...

This is a photograph of Guildford High Street with its wonderful clock and old buildings. It is a very familiar scene for locals and visitors and typifies Guildford, especially with the Surrey Hills in the background. The clock is in beautiful condition and dates back to 1683. Under the clock is the meeting place for many events in Guildford, including New Year's Eve, Pancake race on Shove Tuesday and the start of the procession on November 5th. Guildford High Street has also been the final stop in the Round Britain Cycle ride, my goodness going up the hill on the cobbles must be a difficult feat, after many miles of riding.
