Kilsyth Reflections
Our Ramblers walk this morning was billed as 'Kilsyth Circular' and so we headed off westwards towards Dumbreck Marsh, then cut south towards the Forth & Clyde Canal where we followed the tow-path back towards Auchinstarry Basin. The weather was warm and humid, although the sun didn't break through until later, in fact as we were nearing the end of our walk. This photo was taken on the tow-path as we approached Auchinstarry.
After a break for much-needed refreshments at Auchinstarry, we continued eastwards for a while along the Coach Road, before returning to Kilsyth town centre. A very pleasant, flat walk and, as is usual for a Tuesday, not too long.
After stopping for lunch in Kilsyth, rather than return home, I took the bus into Glasgow to soak up more of the Commonwealth Games atmosphere (and to buy a CG 2014 t-shirt, if truth be told). The city is absolutely buzzing with excitement and anticipation - the warm, sunny weather helps, of course - and it's amazing to think that it's less than 24 hours now before the Games start. Decided to make the most of my trip into town so, another bus journey later, and I had racked up three more Clyde mascots photographed. I'm now up to 12, but still another 13 to go!
I expect my blips in the next few days will have a distinct Commonwealth Games theme, though goodness knows when I will have time to post them!
