Sparkle

A friend has come back from a trip south with treasure. She visited the house she grew up in, unoccupied since her mother died last year and brought home lots of the things which have no meaning or value to anyone else but are not ready for the dustbin yet.

Amongst the treasure is this costume jewellry which came to her mother decades ago from some distant relation. There are six or seven necklaces of beautiful glass beads. Much better quality than anything you could find today but hopelessly unfashionable, strung in double and triple strands and fastened with beautiful clasps. We wouldn't wear them - too dressy and formal and the next generation down wouldn't be seen dead in them.

Any suggestions of what to do with the sparkle?
