Sunset from the terrace

A few minutes before 11:00pm seemed like a good time to look for the moon, so I climbed the stairs to our top floor terrace. The view of the sunset was peaceful and lovely.

Amsterdam sits at 52.22 N. As a reference for those on the Canadian prairies, it is just slightly north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which is 52.13 N. So, the summer days are wonderfully long. We are also enjoying beautifully warm weather.

The last two months have been a whirlwind for Kevin and me - in a good way. Kevin received a promotion with his company so has been hard at work finishing up his Amsterdam assignment while some of the new work is beginning. The new position means that in addition to an early return to Canada, we will be moving to Montreal. What was supposed to be a three week visit to Canada in June, turned into six weeks of craziness as we quickly purchased a home in Montreal and prepared our Burlington home for sale. It has been busy to say the least!

As Kevin is needed in Montreal sooner rather than later, we will be leaving Amsterdam much earlier than planned. I have loved every minute in Europe and we intend to make the most of our remaining time in this beautiful city.

My photos have been accumulating over the last two months so I have a lot of backblipping to do. I miss my blip friends and look forward to catching up on your journals.
