Canal Walks

A Saturday off with my Lukey B - hooray! Now that Luke works office hours it will be a rare and enjoyable thing to have a weekend day off to spend with him.

Today I had a lazy morning with a massage and then breakfast before heading out to find Homebase and buy a fan! Far too hot in our new house (at least we know the double glazing works!) so we set off walking along the canal and passed Osterly Locks where a family were bringing their houseboat up stream.

We saw bright blue dragon flies and butterflies and ducks and moorhens and finally two perfectly white swans. I said hello as we passed and marvelled at their graceful silhouette and curve of their necks. The photo doesn't really do her justice but it was nice to see them.

We eventually found the retail park and stopped at Subway first to refuel and then tried Homebase but they were completely sold out of fans! The only one they had left was a USB fan which we bought in the hopes it may help to cool the flat.
We also bought a new mirror for the bathroom saw some shelving units we may buy at a later date.

Catching the bus back to Hanwell we saw a few shops along the way that might sell fans so we got off and had a look. No fans but we did buy a new bathroom mat with memory foam inside (swishy!) and a Dole pineapple juice with coconut jelly bits inside - surreal but nice!

Eventually making it back home we had a but of dinner and tried to cool down before heading to bed.

Today I. Am grateful for being able to spend time with my fiancé even if we didn't get up to much it was nice to walk and talk together out in the sunshine along the canal.
